We’re A Welcoming Congregation

We know that religious spaces haven’t always been welcoming places for all people, especially when it comes to gender and sexuality. As a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association, we are out to change that.

We want to make sure lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people are full members of our faith communities. Being welcoming means striving for radical inclusion, and creating spaces that honor every part of our identities, backgrounds, and experiences.

When we say everyone is welcome…we mean it.

You are welcome just as you are. Our goal is to nurture and guide your spiritual journey, not insist upon what that journey will be.

First UU Church of Indiana, PA is proud to be a UUA certified “Welcoming Congregation.”

Congregations are also asked to “renew” their Welcoming Congregation status periodically, so that the program can remain active and timely in our communities. First UU has begun this renewal, and we’re excited to continue to learn and grow!
