Women’s History Month

Dr. Laurie Roehrich, IUP Psychology professor recently spoke to the congregation to celebrate Women’s History Month. Her topic,” The “F” Word: Feminist History & Futures,” explored the importance of women’s narratives in psychology and the sciences. She and her daughter, India, read the Story for the Ages for the children and congregation, “Who Says a Woman Can’t be a Doctor?.” The story described Elizabeth Blackwell’s journey to become the first female doctor in the United States. It is important to note that Dr. Blackwell was also of the Unitarian Universalist faith. Patti Holmes was Worship Assistant for this particular service.
