Sabbatical Finances

I’ve received a question wondering why we will pay two Unitarian Universalists ministers to visit our pulpit while I am away.  I agree we have many qualified and interesting speakers within our congregation and in Indiana.

However, this congregation has always called on the services of other UU ministers, especially from Pittsburgh when we haven’t had a called minister.  In addition, I think it is good for members of our small UU congregation to hear the voices of other UU ministers besides mine.

During the weeks of my sabbatical times we will pay for two UU ministers, Rev. Robin Zucker on January 19 and Rev. Tom Bodie on March 2.  We are grateful for the volunteer professors from IUP Professors who will join us, and for our Worship Associates and members who have volunteered to lead services.

I will return to work on Thursday, March 19 and to our pulpit on Sunday, March 30.
Hopefully, with a store of good sermon stories and ideas.
