India Krug, Religious Education class spokesperson at the lectern, along with members of the RE class, is shown while she was introducing the current social justice project, The ICCAP’s Power Pack Program, at February 2 service. During the month of February, First UU will focus our food donations on the Power Pack Program for elementary school children.  This program collects easy-to-manage foods to feed children on weekends.  In Indiana County, 500 children are now receiving Power Packs, and it is estimated that more than 400 more are in need.  Along with food, they also accept grocery gift cards. Suggested child friendly and non-perishable items: canned pasta, cups/cans of soup with veggies, individual oatmeal or cereal boxes, light popcorn, shelf stable milk, canned/cups of fruit, pudding/jello cups, 100% juice boxes, canned meats/tuna, tuna/chicken meal kits, granola bars, individual boxes of raisins or other dried fruit, macaroni & cheese, pop tarts, crackers (esp. graham or animal), individual bags of nuts or trail mix, and healthy snack foods.  NO GLASS JARS OR HIGH FAT/HIGH SUGAR SNACKS FOR THIS PROGRAM, PLEASE! Bins for donations are located on the floor under the coat rack in the lobby.
